As an exercise in complex formations I thought I'd try Snow Hill for my next foray. Here are the rough tracks laid out ready for the next stage. However, I am not at all sure of the crossing work around the end platforms 9 and 10, there seem to me to be far too many duplicate routes. I would appreciate ideas from anyone else before I start to draw out the plan in earnest. I have attached the box file here and will post the bgs and bmp files too. Regards Raymond |

Hi Raymond It looks impressive, I believe there is a track plan in one of the GW station books but I can't remember which one I will have to dig them out and have a look. Cheers Phil |

This is based upon the plan in Vol 4 of An Historical Survey of Selected GWR Stations, which is what I scanned in to get the bgs file. It might be impressive plan one day but at over 50 feet long it would take a Pete Waterman to have it built. Regards Raymond |

After some hours work I think I have the London end of the station beginning to something like proper track. I'd appreciate any input on any errors that anyone can see. Regards Raymond |

I've done an attempt at a Snow Hill trackplan. Its had to be much pared down to fit into 21 Ft by 16ft, which means putting both throats on the curves and losing some of the pointwork, but hopefully it gives a fair representation. Rovex The link is below topic 1332 - message 9204 |

As an exercise in complex formations it has proven very 'interesting' indeed. However, I 'think' I have figured out all the crossing, slips and tandems. As you can see, it is the 22nd version so far and there is still quite a lot of timber shoving to do. I suspect also that some of the formations are incomplete and or have insufficient check rails. All I need now is lots of money and a warehouse to build it in. Regards Raymond |
