I have found a new ballast, for 4mm scale, which I am now pleased to offer. Full details are on my website but briefly the main advantages are: 142_280337_260000000.jpg Upper photo the ballast has been glued down and coloured. Briefly the method used was the normal pre-spray with water and a drop of detergent followed by diluted PVA applied with a dropper. Once dry the process was repeated but instead of PVA, diluted water soluble paint was used. Lower photo shows raw ballast but the colour doesn't quite look like the actual colour, which is to my eyes a slightly off-white creamy colour. 142_280338_550000000.jpg 1) It actually looks like ballast 2) When you glue it down using the method of pre-wetting with a spray of water with a drop of washing-up liquid and dropping your chosen glue on by dropper, be it diluted PVA or Latex glue, once dried, the colour is unaffected. 3) It is quite pale in appearance so colour can be easily altered Just a quick note to say that I appear to have run out of bandwidth for this month. As I anticipate the problem will not re-occur after this month, I'm not about to fork out the extra for a greater bandwidth allowance just yet. So if you have any bookmarks on my website, they may not work until July. I have a re-direct in place so best to just go to the url without using an html page in it. Temporarily, I'm using a backup hosting service, so loading times may be higher but I have now got around to adding the online payment system to it if you wish to use that method. -- Stephen Freeman Finescale Trackwork 7mm to 4mm scales Colour Light and Semaphore Signals http://www.borg-rail.com |
