Went to open the latest Development version again this evening and this happened...:D:D

That nice Mr Norton not only wouldn't allow me in, it seems to have deleted the whole thing.  I didn't see the restore option at the time as I was so surprised what had happened.  Will I be able to reload the program and use the same unlock key?

I've no idea why it did that as I used it a day or two ago.  I did install a new graphics card today, but that shouldn't impact it....or will it?

Edit:  Managed to restore it from the Quarantine History, but still wondering why it happened.:thumb:

Gordon,

For god sake get rid of Norton from your PC. The only good product with that name that I have seen had handlebars and a seat.........

I think the reason it did it is clearly stated in your screenshot! I had the same problem initially but I seem to have beaten NIS into submission and I no longer have to go through this restore process.

As to whether your Norton product should be removed, I would say leave it alone. It can be over-zealous at times but overall, I'm very happy with it. I've used Norton Antivirus/Internet Security programs for over 20 years and never had an infection or security breach. Nuff said.

Hi Gordon,

You can re-download and install TDV as many times as you wish, you won't need a new release code.

Download from:

 topic 1500

TDV rings home each time you start it to ask for permission to run. This is to make sure that you are using the latest version -- it doesn't send any information from your computer. Please tell Norton that this is not suspicious or a security risk and not to be such a fuss-pot.

There is the extremely unlikely possibility that your copy of TDV has become corrupted in some way, so you may want to scan it for viruses, etc. just to be sure.

I won't enter the Norton debate, except to say that wild horses etc... :)

regards,

Martin.
