I don't normally pass on or encourage spam warnings, otherwise the forum would be awash with them, most of which turn out to be a hoax. However, I have just received one of the spams reported here, which was extremely convincing, confirming an alleged order of mine for a webcam and a hard drive: http://news.softpedia.com/news/YesAsia-Does-Not-Spam-Customers-With-Fake-Bills-226972.shtml If you get one, do not click the link it contains. What I found very worrying is that they used an email address of mine, and my name formatted in a particular way, which I use only on one specific credit card. They can have obtained those details only by malicious means. I have therefore had the card stopped, even though no actual transaction has taken place. Be careful. regards, Martin. |
