I've searched to see if this "problem" has already been noted, or if indeed it is a problem and not just me being stupid  ; but I couldn't find any previous posts.Sketchboard seems to have a problem with partial templates. I discovered this whilst playing around producing a complex scissors crossing and double slips.... To be sure it wasn't just me, I went back to a box file uploaded by Raymond Walley for a scissors crossover (double junction 6) and hit the sketchboard button. The attached .sk9 file is the result. Almost all the templates are partial ones and sketchboard obviously can't "see" them. Is this a flaw or am I doing something wrong? Regards, Stuart |

Before using TDV it's a good idea to read the change log:  topic 1511 - message 9413 from which: • output in diagram mode -- solid colour infill between stock rail edgesIf you do need partial templates to show on the sketchboard you must change to detail-mode output instead. On the sketchboard control panel click the trackplan tab, untick the in diagram mode tickbox and then click the update now button. regards, Martin. |

Martin, Thanks as ever for your rapid response, and apologies for troubling you with something that had been covered elsewhere already. I had a (very!) vague recollection of having read something about this issue. It must have been a few months back that I looked at the change log when I first used TDV and hadn't used Sketchboard at that time, so "Diagram-mode" and its significance obviously hadn't registered with me. I'd already worked out by trial and error that it had something to do with stock rails and your suggestion of using temporary templates to produce the required diagram in Sketchboard is a simple solution. As with so many things, it's obvious when it's pointed out... by someone who knows what they're doing  I must go back and re-read the various guides/logs as I'm sure there will be other things that didn't register first time around. TDV is great, and it looks like the next update will have some fantastic additional functions - I don't know how you mange to go on making something that is already brilliant even better, but it is very much appreciated that you do. I'm aware that the entire documentation is at present an unholy mess -- made even worse now by having new users of TDV who won't know what is new and what has been part of Templot for years. The solution is a completely new Templot Companion site which as you know I have made a start on: http://www.templot.com/companion/ But unfortunately "a start" is as much as can yet be said about it. And when I consider the sheer volume of work and time involved to rewrite and update all the existing docs, tutorials, screenshots and videos, I'm beginning to wonder if it will ever be possible.
