Hi all

This is probably just a "problem" of my own making (or not finding!), but I can't seem to print background shapes. I have a plan for the forthcoming club layout which is under construction, and the background templates show the individual board edges, which it would be very useful to have on my printouts.

I am currently printing a few in A3 for test purposes, but I believe we have found access to a printer capable of printing A1 width on a roll.

Hi Paul,

Which Windows? If it's Windows 95 / 98 / ME , the reason is that the lines in the background shapes are too long. You can get them to print by breaking them into several shorter lines in a row.

Otherwise, try output > output drawing options > element options > and make sure background shapes is ticked.

Also, check that the colour for printing background shapes is not set to white.

regards,

Martin.

p.s. Paul,

If the baseboard sizes match the grid setting, make sure you haven't got grid in front of shapes selected, which causes the grid lines to obscure the background shapes where they match.

This was the default setting in 091c.

Hi Martin

It's windows 7 64-bit. I've checked and have the relevant boxes ticked in element options. Baseboard sizes definitely don't match the grid seetings as all except the four for the fiddleyard are curved :-)

I am attaching the box file and will separately attach the bgs and bmp files

thanks

Paul

Sorry I should also have said it is 2.05c. BGS file attached. However I don't think I can attach the bmp file as it is huge. I could try converting it to png

Hi Paul,

You should be using PNG files anyway for background picture shapes in 205c. :)

BMP is supported only for backwards compatibility.

No need to convert it yourself -- attach the SK81 file which you will find in the background shapes folder.

regards,

Martin.

Hi Martin

I still have it as a bmp because I first created it before v2! I have no associated sk81 file so I will convert it and see if it is within the filesize limits

thanks

Paul

Ah, that explains it. Sorry, yes it is a picture shape, but I assume I was confused as they are only "rectangles", albeit curved ones. Mind you, I had a lot of problems getting them into templot in the first place, so didn't want to have to redo them unless absolutely essential

Thanks for the help

Paul
