The menu choice Trackpad>Show Sketchboard Items on Trackpad seems to have no effect. As far as I can tell, the only way to show Sketchboard Items on Trackpad is to check the box in the upper left corner of the Sketchboard window. style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #ffffee"I would suggest either eliminating the Trackpad menu choice or make it checkable and have that setting transfer automatically to Sketchboard when opened and vice versa. style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #ffffee"Mark C |

Mark C wrote: The menu choice Trackpad>Show Sketchboard Items on Trackpad seems to have no effect.Hi Mark, Many thanks for finding that bug. In fact, that menu item has no code attached to it at all, so it's not surprising that it doesn't do anything. Sorry about that oversight -- it will be fixed in the next update. It's intended to duplicate the tickbox setting on the sketchboard, so that you can show/hide the sketchboard items without leaving the trackpad. regards, Martin. |

Martin, In that case, why don't you eliminate the checkbox in Sketchboard as it's easy to overlook, anyway. Btw, I posted the first blush of a possible Doc I came up with for "Getting to Know Sketchboard" in the thread you and I were having in the Templot Talk forum. If it's helpful, you can modify and use it in any way you wish. If not, just ignore it. Mark C |

Mark C wrote:In that case, why don't you eliminate the checkbox in Sketchboard as it's easy to overlook, anyway.Hi Mark, Well it depends on the likely work-flow. I imagined the most likely sequence would be: make some changes on the sketchboard; want to see how they look on the trackpad; so tick the box and close the sketchboard. Then immediately you can see them on the trackpad. Then while you continue track planning on the trackpad you probably no longer want them in the way (and their presence slows down the trackpad response); so untick them on the menu. In other words, the sketchboard tickbox is mostly for turning them on, and the trackpad menu item is mostly for turning them off. But that's just how I imagined folks working. I've learnt that quite often they do the exact opposite of what I would have expected. regards, Martin. |

Martin, Having the two choices (Trackpad menu & Checkbox) linked so either can be used makes the most sense to me and until you can implement this, I would suggest eliminating the Trackpad menu choice. Mark C |
