I have Templot 2 on the family desktop at home no problems. However my problem is with my laptop, its a works one with no administrator rights. I have 091C running on it (which I bought a log time ago now) with all the soft ware stored on a memory stick because 091C does not need to amend the system registry for which you need administrator rights. I have saved the Templot set file on the memory stick but fails to install because the computer says I have no administrator rights. Have you change the way templot installs? I do 99% of my templot work on the laptop (at work in lunchtimes, away on business and at the club I belong to) and the ability to be able to use the additonal functionality of Templot 2 (especially the sketchbook function, platforms etc) would be very useful.

Can you advise if there is a solution that does not involve our IT dept who will refuse to play, please.

Regards

Dave

Hi Dave,

Please read the Templot2 terms of use at:

 http://templot.com/companion/index.html?terms_of_use.htm

Read para 4 to mean in addition any computer currently in your use, from which you agree to remove Templot2 before relinquishing such use.

If you agree the terms, please post a reply here saying so. :)

I will then change your permissions here to allow you to download a .zip file for Templot2 which can be used on USB sticks on any computer and does not require a Windows install.

Note that it will still need an internet connection on startup, so may still fall foul of your IT admins.

Note also that the file extensions will not be associated, so you won't be able to launch Templot by clicking on its files.

regards,

Martin.

Thanks for a very prompt reply. I confirm acceptance of the terms and conditions. With regards to the internet connection if it fails at work it will be ok at home and when I am away which I can live with.

Thanks a lot

Dave

Hi Dave,

Thanks. I have turned you blue. :)

The download zip file and notes are now available at:

 topic 2288

Please note that only members coloured blue will be able to access the above.

The above zip file is needed only if you are unable to run the normal Templot2 setup download from:

 message 10771

To install Templot2 on a USB drive you would normally simply select the drive in the setup dialog.

regards,

Martin.
