I have the same problem. Sent an email in October enquiring about some gauges but like you did not get a reply.

Hi Chris,

The email should be working.

You can also contact Brian Tulley by sending a PM on here to member polybear. Or the same on RMweb.

You could also try asking on the 00-SF email group. Brian's most recent post on there was:

 http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/00-SF/conversations/messages/1123

I know Brian is sometimes away from home.

regards,

Martin.

Hi Chris / Alan /Martin,

I've just seen these posts regarding 16.2mm 00-sf Track Gauges. I've been away for a few days on business in sunny Bolton and so didn't see Chris's email until today - hopefully you should now have a direct reply to your email chris.

I did also receive an email from Alan back in October and replied the same day, but unfortunately in appears that Alan never received my message; it was around that time that I had to install a new hard drive in my pc due to the old one showing imminent signs of dying, so this may explain the loss of my message and/or the loss of any subsequent message from Alan - sorry Alan!

Unfortunately my current stocks of 00-sf Gauges consist of one pair of 16.2mm 3-Point Gauges only; I'm currently reviewing the supply of Gauges and it is intended (if all goes well) to hand over the responsibility for the supply of the Gauges to another party in the near future - hence the very low stocks. This does unfortunately mean a glitch in the current stock availability, but hopefully this won't be for too long. I will keep everyone posted on developments as soon as I know more.

So, apologies to both Chris and Alan that I can't assist with Gauges at this time, but hopefully it won't be for too long!

Kind Regards,
Brian

Thanks Brian for the reply on here as well as RMWeb. Are there any other suppliers I could contact? Or is there a do-it-yourself way? I was hoping to have this as my project over christmas lol.

Hi Chris,
Unfortunately there's no other suppliers of 00-sf Gauges at present; they will be back on line in the near future, though not in time for xmas I fear :(
DIY is always possible, though a Lathe may well be called for....

Hi,
given that 00-SF is described as EM minus 2, you might be able to adapt C&L EM roller gauges to 16.2mm standards without too much trouble.

That might well work if one of the checkrail slots in the roller gauge were used for the running rail.  This would give a gauge of 18.2mm minus 1mm for the flangeway minus the width of the head of the rail.

Workable with no modifications needed?

Just a thought.

Hi,

Yes for plain track, to set the check gauge and flangeway you'd really need to put a flat on one end so it would fit.

Incidentally whilst the EMGS do very good gauges for EM it's only the C&L one which can be modified, though the EMGS do do a 1mm flangeway gauge if you need it.

Of course they do sell a variety of items, many of which are suitable for all 4mm scale gauges.

A piece of 1/8 or 3mm threaded rod, 4 x nuts and 4 X washers, plus some off-cuts of rail about 5mm long.

Clamp the two washers together with two nuts placing two pieces of rail between to give the correct spacing. Do the same again and space the two sets of washers apart with the inner washer face at 16.2mm from the other. One track gauge.

regards

Alan
