Hi I’m new to Templot and am a bit out of phase. I recently purchased Trax3 and have encountered some frustrating issues. After writing to the editor, Noodle Books, I’ve been directed to Templot. My questions are: What is the connection between Templot and Trax? How do I post a question on the discussion group? Best regards from Belgium Jack |

Hello Jack, Welcome to Templot Club. There is no direct connection between Trax and Templot. Trax (currently Trax3) is a paid-for computer program written by Jeff Geary and available on CD from Noodle Books: http://billhudsontransportbooks.co.uk/selected-product.php?pid=3521 Templot (currently Templot2) is a computer program written by me and available as a free download: http://templot.uk The programs are not directly comparable. Templot2 contains many more track design functions than Trax3. Against that Trax3 includes electrical control design (DC) and signal interlocking functions which are not in Templot2. As a paid-for product Trax3 also comes with a book containing practical modelling help. The only connection between us is that I am also owner of the traxusers email support group on Yahoo, having taken over ownership when the previous owner no longer wanted to run it: http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/traxusers/info To which end I also added a linked Trax section here on the Templot Club forum: http://85a.co.uk/forum/view_forum.php?id=21 There is also a Trax support topic on RMweb: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/8957-trax1-trax2-layout-wiring-track-design-software/ However, all the above areas are effectively moribund, having had no activity for 12 months or more. What problems are you having with Trax3 ? I do have a copy, as do several Templot users here. If you post your questions here we may be able to help. regards, Martin. |

Hi I've been working several days with TRAX 3 and now get this message when I want to open a file - 'F' is not a valid floating point value. 2_281122_100000000.png This applies for all my saved files. Can you help un-bug this very inconvenient problem? Thanking you in advance Jack |

Hi Jack, Have you made the control panel too small? I have just noticed that Jeff Geary has already replied to this problem -- see: http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/traxusers/conversations/messages/116 http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/traxusers/conversations/topics/115 regards, Martin. |
