I have a Lenz 100 DCC system comprising LH100 keypad, LZV100 command station and TR150 transformer. The LZV100 is not marked with any version number but I bought the kit new from MacKay Models in 2005.

As of a few days ago, whenever I turn it on the red light on the LZV100 flashes rapidly and nothing runs. I suspected a short-circuit but couldn’t find any, and the flashing still occurs even when I disconnect the LZV100 from the track.

The manual on the Lenz website says at page 38 this is due to either incorrect connection (which I’ve checked) or “overheating of amplifier”. I don’t know what an amplifier is (in this context!) but assume it’s a component of the LZV100. And presumably overheating isn’t the issue because the problem is there from cold.

I’d be grateful to know if anybody has had this problem or knows how to cure it, or do I need a new LZV100?

Hi Ed,

Sorry to break the news, :( but this forum does not cater for DCC issues, you would be far better, to go to the RMWeb site which has a dedicated forum section on DCC and DC electrics.

You can find them at:

 http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/forum/178-dcc-questions/

Good luck.

All the best,

Brian
