It was looking like...

However, after a few days, heavy overnight rain (it went milder) swept it all away. Hope it stays away until Christmas day; haven't got the turkey in yet!

Merry Christmas to all.

Hi Martin,

Best wishes of the season to you and your family. Try not to spend the whole holiday in front of the computer :(

Do I remember seeing an track image of yours with all the peg positions marked on it at some point ? Just about to start teaching a newbie on using Templot over the next few weeks so it would be useful. Worry not if you didn't post one at some point - I can make something for her.

Rob

I probably did do one, but I can't remember where and I can't find a link.

I'm about to update all that stuff in the Templot Companion over the next few months, which is why all the old stuff has been offline for a few weeks. While it's still on there I never will get round to updating it.

Don't go overboard on explaining the peg positions. Beginners don't really need to know much about them. If you watch this (old) video you will notice that the peg is never explicitly used:

 http://templot.com/sk5/starter_track_plan_.sk5

And I'm about to re-make that video too.

Ideally beginners would leave Templot for a month or two while I get the web site sorted out. It will be my project for the New Year.

cheers,

Martin.

Hi Martin,
Thanks for the reply. I will bear in mind the website/documentation updates that are just around the corner. The main object of the sessions with my friend is to start them off on the right path and not to have them jump in at the deep end. There are a couple of layouts to be designed using Templot, one is a slightly enlarged 'minories' type and the other an oval with multiple tracks so a few trains can be running at once. But first the basics......

Rob
