I love Marmite.

But in Templot2 I can't find how to store preferences. Mine doesn't seem to have a prefs file anywhere.

Paul.

Hi Martin,

To refresh my memory is there an up-to-date list of what can and can't be saved as program preferences?... and is the preferences file saved in a format that allows the user to see what settings they have changed from the defaults ?

Regards
Rob

At present you can read the preferences file(s) in a text editor such as Windows Notepad, although it doesn't give you very much in human-readable form:

 C:\TEMPLOT_DEV\prefs.sk1

You can edit the file, although I wouldn't recommend it -- you may produce unpredictable results or prevent the file from loading.

A proper preference-files editor function is on my to-do list. I could compile an interim text list of all saved settings, although it is not a 2-minute task and wouldn't stay up-to-date for long as I am frequently adding more to the list.

If there is something which doesn't get saved at present which you think is important, please let me know, and I will add it.

regards,

Martin.

Hi Martin,

Don't worry about the preferences for now you have far too much to cope with. I just didn't know if there was a way to show on screen the ones that had been set or saved.

Regards
Rob

Hi Martin,

Not pushing you ( or expecting a date ) but is this still in the queue ? Rather than actually editing it I am probably more interested in what settings are possible to save to it in case there is something useful I am missing from putting in it. Leave it below the docs/website updates in the queue :D

You mention in the Help notes that sharing prefs.sk1 files is OK so I assume that I can copy the file from my main PC to a newly windows-installed/Templot installed laptop without any issues ?

BTW my wife thinks "Templot Scruff" is a place down on the river. She says it must be as she saw the screen last night titled "Templot Scruff Video"

Regards
Rob
