It has been a while but I have a new question which I hope has not been asked recently. My apologies if it is a dumb one.

I have spent some time drawing a large O gauge layout on Templot which I enjoyed doing very much. However, I am planning on printing this out very soon and a thought has occurred to me. I have built some 1600 X 1600mm baseboards but I do not want a baseboard join where a turnout is supposed to be. I have adjusted the grid spacing to 1600 X 1600mm and there will be some conflict with baseboard joins. I would like to move the grid around to get the best fit before I print the plan. Is this possible to do or does it mess things up? If it is possible can some kind soul take me through the menu options to complete this task? I am using Templot 2 currently. Thank you in advance for any help.

Regards

Les

Hi Les,

What you are wanting to do is move the track plan on the grid, not move the grid. :)

Just press the BACKSLASH key on the keyboard to get the shift group mouse action.

Then click the green bar group select all option.

Now you can move your entire track plan to a new position using the mouse.

Similarly you can use FORWARDSLASH to rotate (twist) the entire track plan to a new angle. The plan is rotated around the current position of the notch.

Usually after rotating you will want to move it again.

Click the group > ungroup menu item when you have finished adjustments.

The backslash key ( \ ) is bottom left on the keyboard. Alternatively press SHIFT+CTRL+F7.

The forwardslash key ( / ) is bottom right on the keyboard. Alternatively press SHIFT+CTRL+F8.

Alternatively, click the action > mouse actions: group > menu items.

regards,

Martin.
