I have been working on a plan for a P4 test track, which combines track with bullhead and flat bottom rails. Having printed out and stuck down the first set of templates on the baseboard, a second attempt at printing one of the points with flat bottom rails, it stubbornly refused to print the rail foot, remaining as if bullhead. Attached is the BOX file, the point in question is number 35. What could have happened? Colin |

Hi Colin, Welcome to Templot Club. Your template no. 35 is labelled "bullhead". It is however set for flat-bottom rails and is printing as such here. Note that only background templates can be printed with a rail foot (blue-grey rails). The control template cannot yet be printed that way*. Did you perhaps have no. 35 in the control template when printing (rust-brown rails)? It's a good idea when printing a track plan to move the control template out of the way (F7) so that you get a clear view of the background templates. *The flat-bottom option is still under development. As you can see, the tips of the switch blades are still showing less than ideal. regards, Martin. |

Hi Martin, I have just opened the attached plan and now the turnout is numbered '23'. Following advice in 'another place', I have found that there was another template under the one I was trying to print. Following your instructions on removing old templates, all is now well. There are one or two issues with crossings on the tandem point, but nothing that prevents me from making the rail assemblies, so it is all systems go now. Colin |
