I have been trying to move a large group to a notch point on the main layout but the video I found is now outdated. Can someone please let me know the new method for shifting a large group to a notch point?

Hi Raymond,

First put the notch under the peg on the required position within the group. Use the peg/align tools > menus on the background template to do that.

When the position is within a group you will be invited to link the group to the notch. Answer Yes.

Then put the notch at the destination position. It can't be within the group. The notch will move and take the group with it.

If it ends up facing the wrong way, click group > rotate group 180 degrees menu item.

Important: finally click the reminder message to unlink the group from the notch.

While a group is linked to the notch you can do lots of other things with the notch, for example in the peg/align tools menus, or using the geometry > notch > cycle recent notch locations menu item (there are 8 slots in the register). Or you can set the geometry > notch > notch position and angle... directly if you are in a CAD mood and want the group at a precisely defined position on the grid, or at a precise angle.

regards,

Martin.
