Hello Martin,
Thank you very much for your reply, much appreciated. I followed your instructions and I'm pleased to say that it worked! I wasn't sure what was happening previously, I thought I was doing the right things but to no avail. Anyway, I have no excuses now. I'll start my own Moretonhampstead thread and hope to be able to make good progress. I can't believe that this proposed layout has been 10 years + in the planning!!

Thanks again, keep up the good work it's much appreciated.

Regards

David

You should be so lucky!
My major layout project has been some 40 + years in the planning / research phase. Finally started cutting wood for baseboards in anger earlier this year.
Regards
Tony.

Hi Tony,
Well that makes me feel a lot better!
I've also started to cut some timber, although it's for the Base Units which will not only support the Model Railway Baseboards but also provide a storage for Magazines etc that I've collected over the years.

Regards

David

I'm glad I've been able to skip the woodwork efforts, by getting Tim Horn to laser cut my baseboards for me (he even assembled them as I collected them from a show).

Hi David.
That is similar to me. I went and bought a batch of kitchen base units whilst on offer at Wicks as a sub-baseboard storage system and built this to support the baseboards above. I wanted adjustment at a sensible working height with the ability to use separate legs underneath as an option.

Apologies for the clutter. The horizontal rails are separate from the supports, which they just slot into and also support the next set of horizontal rails that butt up to it. The  idea is to be able to level the whole length of the subframe before putting the baseboards in place.
Regards
Tony.

"I know the whole object of this forum is to learn but I'd really be chuffed if someone could load in a background map for me to the correct scale so I can start working on a scheme I have in mind. Has someone got the skills and can do this for me?"
Believe me but I managed to do it!

However, I need to get the hang of the basics. When I uploaded my map I didn't have the knowledge of Templot to start!
