I'm using an applemac to run Templot through wine, it seems to work ok. I'm trying to import an Frank Dyer track plan that's been scanned to a PDF and sits neatly on my desktop.
When I go to the bit in Templot that lets me import a photo or whatever, the dialog box on the left doesn't seem to let me access the place where the pdf is. Am I missing something (apart from a few screws loose)..

It's obviously not a map that's being imported from the net so I didn't try that option. It's not in "photos", documents or anywhere visible in Wine.

Hi Roy,

You can't import a PDF directly into Templot.

A PDF file is a wrapper container for other content such as images, drawings, text, etc.

Some PDF reader programs let you extract the contained images, or export the page as a new image. If you would like to attach the PDF file here, I will extract the image for you and post it back.

I can't answer how to find your Mac files from Wine, sorry. Someone here should be able to. I have found a convenient way to access files for Wine is to put them on a USB memory stick or external drive instead of the usual C: drive.

regards,

Martin.

Hi Martin, the system won't let me attach a PDF on here either for some reason.

Hi Roy,

How big is it? There is a limit of 10MB.

I have just added .PDF to the allowed attachments in addition to .pdf

(On the internet they are two different files.)

If still no joy, please send it to me by email. You can find my email address by clicking my name on the left.

regards,

Martin.

Hi Roy,

Here is your track plan image. Attached below. I will also send it by email.

It's a very poor scan, I have tried to improve it by darkening it and increasing the contrast.

Both versions below:

1. dark.
