Hi everyone, i consider myself a real beginner to this software but i'm plodding through as best i can.I have a problem getting a 2m long curved track to align with the next track.
I'm on the open end of a 2m long curved track that comes off a point so has to be fixed at that end and when using the "curve" command the resolution of the mouse is not allowing me to place the track where i want it. It clicks either to the left or the right of the next track and i guess there's a way to get the movement finer, but i can't seem to figure it out.

Hi Tom,

Welcome to Templot Club. :)

You can set a finer mouse response when you need it, but for general track planning it's not normally needed.

The red fixing peg should lock the curve onto the turnout while you adjust the radius.

It sounds as if you are having trouble with F7 snapping. You can prevent snapping by holding down the SHIFT key on the keyboard. However that's not normally part of the curving function.

I have made you a short bit of video showing how to add a curved track onto a turnout, and how to select a finer mouse response if you need it.

Here's the video, sorry it's scruffy:

Ask again if it's not clear, and perhaps attach a screenshot of your screen.

If you are trying to fit a curve between two fixed templates, see this page:

cheers,

Martin.

Thanks Martin, the extra fine setting sorted it. I was sure that it was there somewhere, just couldn't find it.
