Dear all,

There is a new video showing the align function being used to convert an existing string of templates to a new centre-line.

If they are standard templates it is usually easier just to align fresh ones as required. But if these templates have been customized for your design, they can be copied and re-aligned as shown without losing the customizing.

In the video the diamond-crossing is aligned onto a transition curve. To ensure accuracy of the K-crossings it is better to re-create the second half-diamond as shown, rather than copy the first one.

The video was made using 091c and shows some of the other changes in that version.

Hi Martin,

Another video masterpiece and it will certainly enable me to create the effects I was after.

Thanks.

Peter

Excellent Martin - thanks.  That's a whole new bit of Templot to me, and I have an immediate use for it in trying to smooth out an awkward set of turnouts.  Mind you, doing all that with the menus looks hard work, but I suppose keyboard shortcuts with Camtasia would be like juggling on the radio :D

Hi Zoë,

Details of 091c are in this topic:  pug version 091c

But the align functions have been in Templot since the first release. :)

regards,

Martin.
