Hi Martin,

Not sure if this is a bug or something in my settings. On start up when using my saved preferences, if I click "Match Primary Monitor Only" the display almost fills both displays. This doesn't happen if I start without using saved preferences. It's not a big deal because it only takes a second to resize the screen, but the issue persists even though the screen is resized prior to closing. I have even tried saving preferences with the screen reset to one screen but this makes no difference.

My prefs.sk1 file is attached.

As I say, not a biggie but thought I'd mention it in case you want to look at it.

Richard

Hi Richard,

Thanks for the prefs file.

The slightly smaller than full-screen trackpad is intended by design when using multiple monitors and/or when running under Wine/CrossOver. This is mentioned in the match primary monitor only dialog on startup.

If multiple monitors are not properly matched for size and position, it's possible in some versions of Windows for the top-right system buttons to be off-screen when a window is maximized. If the trackpad was automatically maximized on startup, there would then be no way to drag it or re-size it. Starting it slightly smaller allows it to be dragged and re-sized if needed for a more comfortable fit to your monitors.

And under Wine it is sometimes necessary to drag the trackpad out of the way to access a modal dialog hidden beneath it.

There is an option at program > main program panel > trackpad position... menu item to change the restored-down position. I will look at that to include the option to restore down when maximized, instead of the above settings. It would also need a keyboard shortcut in case the menu is not accessible.

All that being said, there is a small bug in current versions which means that once you have selected to use multiple monitors for the trackpad, there is no way to remove the option from your saved preferences without losing all of them.

To solve your problem therefore you would need to abandon preferences, then restart Templot, choose match primary monitor only for the trackpad, and then start saving preferences again.

Unfortunately that would lose all your other saved preferences, until you reset them all. So to avoid the need for that I have edited your prefs file and re-attached it below. Replace your existing file with this one.

Many thanks for reporting it.

cheers,

Martin.

Hi Martin,

Thanks, that worked. I did select the multiple monitor option once by accident.

I did look at the prefs file to see if I could tweak anything but it was almost as if you didn't want us mucking about with it  :D .

Richard

Whatever gave you that idea? :)

If you look in the prefs_unit.pas file in OpenTemplot you can de-code it:

cheers,

Martin.
