Hi Martin, is there a way I can override the 'inches' setting in parallel track measurements? I understand how to use the 's' in front of a number and that gives me model dimensions, but it doesn't hold that information in mm.
I can set up s60 as a number and make the parallel track. If I then go off and work on other bits of my plan and come back to that piece of track later, it defaults back to 180 inches and I have to keep doing the conversion to check what spacing I had entered.
It would be great if you could set a default to work in inches or mm and only had to set it once.

Knowing Templot, it probably does, but I haven't found it yet.....:D

One other thing, can I save 'hide name labels' to my preferences, so they are always off?

Hi Gordon,

There isn't a setting to swap to model mm for all time, but you can always see the current spacings for the control template in both prototype inches and model mm at the top of the tools menu. Just click on tools to see it at any time:

I started to write some of my usual gumpf about how it is better to work in prototype dimensions, and then changed my mind and added an extra menu item as above. :)

It will be in the next program update soon.

About the name labels, see:

 topic 3554

cheers,

Martin.

Wow, Martin, you’re a star! I guess it’s because I’ve spent hours over the last few days changing things and continually using parallel tracks.

I hope it doesn’t mean too much programming for you....If it’s a lot of time to do, then don’t worry.

I fully understand where you’re coming from re preferences, but I guess we all have our own way of working, so see things differently.

Many thanks as always...

Thanks Gordon.

The updated version of Templot is now on the server (224a).

It includes the option for setting track spacings in mm directly.  :)

Just restart Templot and follow the notes to install the update.

( If your Templot system is not connected to the internet, download the file from here:
  http://templot.com/companion/installation.php
Save it onto a USB stick, transfer it to your Templot system, and open it on the stick. )

cheers,

Martin.
