I replied to a comment about  Zero-14. In the text I was very careful to distinguish between zero and uppercase o.

When it arrives on my screen everything has been changed to lowercase o.

I am not an 'appy bunny.

Why does the software not distinguish between zero and o?

Hi Thor,

I guess you are reading the messages on the Yahoo web site? Yahoo uses a font in which the zero character is very similar to a lower-case letter o. But if you look carefully you will see that they are slightly different:

The answer is really very simple -- stop using email and/or Yahoo and read and write your messages here on the Templot Club site. That's what it's here for. :) There's a quick link at the top of every email message. Then no delays -- instant posting -- you can see the images -- and no funny zeroes! :) :)

regards,

Martin.

Hmmmm. I am reading messages as e-mails delivered to Outlook. Looking at the message as it appears on the forum screen, there is no clear difference between a zero (0) and an uppercase O. That is what bothers me. The two are different symbols and not to be confused. Computers? Bah, humbug!

Hi Thor,

Well it's your computer! :) If you don't like the font which Outlook is using to display emails, change the font to a different one, or don't display emails as HTML. The email messages from Templot Club are plain text only, there is no font information in them. That is either being added by Yahoo or by your own system.

Instead of receiving emails via Yahoo, why not get them direct from the forum? See:

http://85a.co.uk/forum/new_member.htm

The message which I copied to the forum is a screenshot from the Yahoo web pages. The Templot Club forum pages use only sans-serif fonts (which are far more suitable for a low-resolution device such as a monitor screen).

regards,

Martin.
