Having watched the introductory video of how to lay templates over a drawing, I could really use a keyboard legend of what does what with out having to go through the video over and over trying to spot what's happening.
It really needs some narration rather than music too.

Is the a list of commands somewhere?

A printable keyboard overlay would be fantastic.

Matthew,

There is a printable chart of key functions. In Templot go to the Help menu and select Print F key chart.

Hi Matthew,

Welcome to Templot Club. :)

All the mouse actions and their keyboard shortcuts, if any, are shown on the action > sub-menus:

As Rob said, there is a chart of the F key functions which can be printed out, help > print F key chart menu item:

It's not an overlay, but it is the same size as a standard Windows keyboard, so can be folded and placed behind it.

In addition, there is a full list of keyboard shortcuts at help > shortcut keys list menu item.

More about getting started at:

And the embryo Templot Explained beginners guide is at:

 http://templot.com/companion/templot_explained.php

The only video with music is the very old starter track plan video, so I assume you mean that one. It is very overdue to be replaced with a new one. But for an explanation of what is happening in it, see this page on basic Templot methods:

 http://templot.com/companion/basic_working_methods.php

All the later videos do not have music, because they contain interactive pauses, with explanatory notes to read.

There is just one video with a voice commentary:

 https://flashbackconnect.com/Movie.aspx?id=BDXvSdUuD-vmjFK4us4vxA2

which took so many hours to make and edit that I won't be doing any more -- and in any event it is now out of date because there have been further program changes which render some of it redundant.

The main Templot documentation is a work-in-progress at:

 http://templot.com/companion/

All the above having been said, I'm afraid the docs for Templot are currently in an utter mess, having been built up over 20+ years as the program was first released and then developed and changed. I have promised many times over the years to sort it all out. But it has become too daunting a task, and nowadays I prefer to go for a walk with my camera. There is a reason why Templot is now free.

It may help to understand the original why and wherefore of Templot to read this:

 http://templot.com/companion/origins_intent.php

cheers,

Martin.
