How do I set my favorite gauge (1/160 to FS 160 standards) with US standard sleeper size and spacing as the default?
Thanks

Hi David,

Welcome to Templot Club. :)

You can't change the actual defaults in Templot, left to itself it always starts up set for REA bullhead pointwork in the fictional T-55 gauge.

Instead, the general idea is to store your custom settings in a library template -- program > store as library template menu item.

Then load (or add) the .box file containing it to your storage box whenever you want to use those settings. You then copy the library template to the control template, and off you go. You could have several different library templates in the file, with a range of different settings. For example you might have different rail lengths / sleeper spacings for running lines and sidings.

If you call your file start.box , it will be loaded automatically on start-up.

This way of working allows you to create an infinite variety of custom settings, and choose whichever you want at any time, without having to type in anything again. You can put all your library templates in one .box file, or have a separate file for each one. Library templates are shown in green on the storage box dialog. They are essentially the same as unused templates, but more difficult to delete inadvertently.

You can add the contents of as many files as you wish to the storage box at any time.

cheers,

Martin.
