Having messed around with Templot for a bit I thought I would have a go at my chosen prototype, Highbridge S&D. This was my first attempt I am going back to start again by altering some of the turnouts as I just wanted to see if it fit my space.

90% of the turnouts are B7, my only gripe is Highbridge is a very straight and parallel station this portion is about 1/3 of the layout the other parts to be included are Highbridge Wharf and Highbridge Ordnance Depot.

Hi Shaun,

Many thanks for sharing your file.

I noticed that you have an instant reverse curve in the running line at:

Generally it looks much better and will give better running if you replace that with an S-curve transition -- even a short transition is better than none at all. It requires only a slight reduction in the radius of one or both of the templates to make room for a transition curve:

Martin thanks for the advice I haven't used that facility before but will give it a try tonight. It certainly looks better. I can see where I have gone wrong by compressing the original plan on the left/ west part I have made a S curve. I am also looking at removing 12 to 18 inches of the approach tracks on the up & down main to ease the curve on the right to 60" from 48".
