I must be doing something wrong, so help please guys. I have constructed a scissors crossover with a double slip on one exit road. I then put a peg on the exit of the slip, put the notch under the peg and then try to add some plain track onto that notch. As soon as I move the track into position the notch moves from under the peg and the new track doesn't align with where I want it to go. Any help would be much appreciated. I should add that this is part of my storage yard and I managed somehow to get the other end to work out after suffering the same sort of problem, I thought I had sussed it but obviously I haven't.:(

Hi George,

You shouldn't try to move track onto the notch. Templot does that for you -- geometry > notch > shift onto notch menu item, or press the MULTIPLY (*) key on the number pad.

What's probably happening if you are using F7 to move the track is that you are getting the F7 snap function. There are several ways to prevent that happening, holding down the SHIFT key is the simplest. But you shouldn't be doing F7 anyway to shift a template onto the notch.

regards,

Martin.

Thanks Martin its a case of 'Whoops silly me'. I had forgotten the divide and multiply to get the notch in the right place and then align the new template not using F7. So I've solved my immediate alignment problem and as you say I probably had the snap working.:D
