Hi,

As they say in Walmart "Two for the Price of One".......

1).  Inadvertently, I closed/hid the Zoom?Pan box which is normally in the top RH of my screen & could fine no way of re-opening it.  Storage Box or Information Box can be opened from a drop-down menu, but I could see nothing for t'other one.  Of course, when Templot was closed, then re-opened, everything was again fine - but there must be a faster way?

2).  This is far more puzzling & worrying.  Deeply engrossed in complicated trackwork comprising a triple turnout, a half diamond & a single slip I started to SHOVE TIMBERS into the prototype locations.  The initial adjustments were around the vees, the centre of the diamond, & the tips of the switch blades; having zeroed the first timber in each case, the others were located at the official spacings.  Everything was going perfectly until.....after about seven or eight timbers in every case, although the Shove Timbers box indicated the correct spacing, on the screen the sleepers were noticeably out of position - by about 50% greater.

At a pinch the offending items could be "Hidden" & yet more prototypical practice followed by locating the missing ones "on site".  But I much prefer being able to experiment on paper, correct mistakes, or make adjustments before risking  the real thing which may (nay, knowing myself, would!) have to be ripped up.

Am using the 91 Pug.

Regards,

Raymond.

Hi Raymond,

pad > zoom / pan options > show zoom / panning controls or just press CTRL+F10, or even easier, just press 0 (zero) key on main keyboard:

Please could you upload or send me the .box file so that I can take a look?

regards,

Martin.

Hi Martin,

Somewhat delayed owing to "That which Spoils All One's Fun".....a wife (luckily I have not yet converted to Islam or the Mormons).

Thanks for the reply, & I have now written down the procedure for the Zoom/Pan Box in the Chairman's Big Red Book.

Ah....well....yerse......now to betray yet more ignorance of both Templot & Computers. How do I do that simple task? I tried GROUPING just the relevant templates (to avoid sending you a massive file) but panicked because there was no clearly obvious outcome. Then looked at sending the entire Box File saved from my last session or, if possible, just the individual files; SEARCH produced no results (plenty of Templot Operating Files but none called Box). Even if I had reached this stage, I would probably not know how to transmit the information successfully.

Am becoming paranoid with Computers - afraid to do anything in case data is irretrievably lost!!

Muchas Gracias,

Raymond.
