This is a small point, but maybe worth a thought. In its list of Gauges, Templot classifies the 2mm Finescale standards as S2. This is understandable as '2mm Finescale' is hardly the snappiest name & I guess it would also blow the field size. The 2mm scale association has been aware of that and various ideas have been considered. S2 was one of them, but it was rejected as implying the 2mm standards are half of S4, which is not the case. Recently however it has decided on the name 2FS for the standards for standard gauge track (see http://www.2mm.org.uk/standards.htm ) If it was not too much trouble, would it be possible to change the entry in the gauges supplied as standard with new versions of Templot to 2FS? Its not a big thing, and if it was going to take more than a couple of minutes its not worth it. I must stress that this is not an official approach from the 2mm scale Association. I am a member and a Templot user, but this is entirely off my own bat. Bill |

I can't just change the name in the list because it will break existing user files. I will have a look at the 2mm web site and see how best to proceed. If the 2FS details differ from the S2 entry in Templot the easiest solution will be to create a separate new entry for 2FS. If not and it's judged sufficiently important I can add a routine to modify old files on loading. regards, Martin. |

Martin Wynne wrote: Hi Bill,Martin, Thanks for the prompt reply. I wouldn't worry about it. It was just a thought, and there are far more important things for you to spend your time on. I'm sure all Templot users know what S2 means anyway. The standards should not be any different from before - only the name has changed. Bill |
