Hi I'm using a custom scale/gauge setting for placing gaurd rails inside the running rails of 1:87 metre gauge. When I set all the dimensions and give these setting a name, they are not saved for the next session and I have to go in and set them again. Is there a way or saving custom settings so they appear in the scale/gauge list with the name you give them? Alan McMillan |

Hi Alan, To save these settings you must store a template containing them, and then save a template data file. Click control > store & background menu item to store the template. Then click control > save all templates... menu item to save a data file in Templot's .box file format. In a future session, click control > reload/add from file... menu item to reload the saved file. Then click on the template. A menu will appear on the left. Click the copy to current menu item. You will then have your template settings again, and you can move the copied template to wherever you want to continue your track planning. There is no great advantage in putting it back in the gauge/scale list once you have a saved template, because it is much quicker and easier just to copy that template whenever you want another one with those settings. However, you can put it back in the list if you wish, although it will remain there only for the current session. Click one of the custom buttons a , b , c , d , and then click the blue adopt the current template dimensions option bar. The usual reason for doing that would be so that you can then modify it to create a different custom setting. Changing the settings there won't affect the existing templates. regards, Martin. |
