Two more pictures kindly supplied by Mick Nicholson. These show a tandem turnout at Beverley. This is what might be called a "type 2" tandem, where the second switch is in the turnout road of the first switch. It is more usual for the second switch to be in the main road of the first switch (as in the tandem video). Notice also the reverse curving through this tandem. Definitely one for the collection, and an interesting challenge in Templot. I think I will keep this picture for the reply the next time someone asks for a tandem as a single click! On that second photo you can really make out the sharp set of the first curve and switch rail on the left hand side. Great Photos there Martin. |
