The track centre-line prints in the same colour as the rail edges, so you can change that to whatever you want. I have made a bit of Jing video showing these changes being made (it may take a short while to load): Here's the printed result from the video: track_centre_print_30mm_1.png  With a bit more work moving the page origin away from the grid origin and adding the baseboards as background shapes, like this: print_cl_3.png  you can then print to get this: track_centre_print_30mm_2.png  If you print that to a virtual printer PDF generator (e.g. http://www.win2pdf.com ), you can display it on screen and do a screen capture to Windows Paint or any drawing package, and add the rest of the layout details. As you mentioned, I'm working on a future Templot upgrade which will make this sort of thing much easier, and allow simple layout detailing to be added directly in Templot like this: sketchbook_draft.png  regards, Martin. |

Thanks Martin, This is a big improvement over my previous efforts. The only issue I've got now is that Templot does not recognise my pdf driver (pdf995 - it's free!) as being capable of producing colour. Not a major issue. Also I ended up using a 1mm line thickness for the Slattocks Junction plan and by boosting the dpi of the output to its maximum I removed most of the jaggies. Andy |

It's actually a bug in pdf995 -- when asked if it can print colour it says no! Unlike Templot, most other software doesn't bother to ask first, so the bug mostly goes unnoticed. As far as I know all other PDF generators work fine in Templot with colour. My preference is Win2PDF -- templates from Win2PDF printed via a PDF reader are identical to Templot's own originals. The free version of Win2PDF simply prints an extra page at the end of the print run. regards, Martin. |
