Hi all, I thought someone might be interesting in seeing the latest version of my Templot .box file for an 1980's Manchester Victoria. I intend to build the layout (featuring platforms 11 through 17) in 2mmFS. The .box file is very much a WIP. I'm basically just tracing my background at the moment, before going through it and tidying it up. The layout is complicated by the fact that there are a number of irregular diamonds and single-slips in the layout, that I'll need to address at some point. If anyone has any constructive criticism or advice, I'll be very interested in hearing it. This is the first layout I've designed using Templot, my previous experiments have been purely to design single track formations to give track building a try. Regards, Carl. |

Here's an update of the .box file for those that are interested. There are now large parts of the western end of the layout traced, and the start of the return loops back to the fiddle yard. I've still got all of those irregular diamonds to deal with! Regards, Carl. |

Hi Carl, If you can upload your background file as well it would be easier to see what you are doing and perhaps make comment. Regards Raymond |

Hi Raymond, Raymond wrote: If you can upload your background file as well it would be easier to see what you are doing and perhaps make comment. Unfortunately my background images I'm using are very high resolution and total 290MB as .bmps, and so are too large to post. That said, I have a smaller version directly scaled from the backgrounds I'm using that you can view at http://manchestervictoria.co.uk/the-track-plan-wip/. It should be noted that the scan of the drawn map is from the 1930's, and the aerial photography is from Google Maps and is from 2003, after the Arena was built. Therefore, the track I'm drawing doesn't necessarily match the background, so I'm also using the collection of photos of the area that I've collected from various sources. Thanks for your reply! Best Regards, Carl. |
