Good news just in from Exactoscale -- the special switch and crossing chairs from the P4 kits are now available separately. See: http://www.exactoscale.co.uk/4mmtrackinst.html regards, Martin. |

Martin / All, I bought a few sets of the diamond / slip chairs a month or two back and had a go at using them - not quite for their intended purpose since this is (non-prototypical) 1:6 single slip - but with a bit of adaptation they work and they look excellent. The pic shows the current state of play - not yet finished but making progress. Still around 6 chairs missing. Next Time I will take a bit more care over the timber spacing which is ultra critical, especially on something like a "C" chair for a 1:6 vee. Just a tiny error in placing the timber means that the chair will not be central to the timber. (solution - leave yourself some room to tweak it at build). Also, I did notice on a 1: 8 slip (not yet built) that the chairs seem to be designed for a different timbering layout than Templot assumes - there is one extra timber between the Obtuse and common crossing noses. Will include some more shots later. 1129_100905_120000000.jpg Also, Shot of a 1:6 commom crossing 1129_100919_020000000.jpg Best Regards, Howard |
