On reflection I think you may have been confused by the changes to the on store & background option.
Previously if you dismissed the explanation for beginners option, the selected option changed to the hide the control template option.
Now that the most recently stored template becomes visible because of the bold timbering, I have changed that to the leave the control template showing option (basically do nothing):
These options don't make any difference to the way Templot works, it is simply a display option for the trackpad. If you don't like it, you can change to one of the other options on the above menu (on the storage box). The reveal option is fun, until you get fed up with it (which is why it isn't the default).
