As a newbie I have found "A Little Gentle Geometry" a really good place to start.

Hi Paul,
As a newbie myself that's a really useful link. I'm sure there's lots of other posts of this nature. It would be useful to have an index to these. Like all search engines, they are only any good if you know what your looking for.
I want to get a sketch into a background as in http://www.templot.com/martweb/video_list.htm but haven't found a way yet. If anyone can point me in the right direction i'd be most grateful.
Regards
Ray.

Just found 'Background and Scans' should be OK now.

Hi Ray,

There's a full video explanation here:

http://www.templot.com/martweb/videos/map_picture_shape.exe

Note that there are some changes in TDV and Templot2 -- you can now use PNG, GIF, JPG image files in addition to BMP, and they no longer need to be saved in the \SHAPE-FILES\ folder.

regards,

Martin.

Many thanks Martin.
Found the 'Companion' videos and Tony's 'Beginners Guide', should keep me going for sometime.

Hi Ray, was messing around with that just recently, for practice I used a 1:2500 scan, then re-did the the scan in 1:1250 and then again in 1:1875 just to see what I could fit in detail wise. Anyway it seems you're sorted.
cheers Paul
