Hi All,

Just joined.

I've recently just got myself some T Gauge to keep me occupied over the winter :)

Have tried to make some points freehand but it's very awkward to get the angles correct.

Is T a bit too small to design and print scale templates?

regards,
Alex.

Hi Alex,

Welcome to Templot Club. :)

No problem at all -- just create a custom gauge setting at the desired scale and gauge (1:480? 3mm?).

Here is a B-6 turnout in less than 50mm (2"). But I'm not sure how you go about building it: :)

Thanks for the info Martin.

It's going to be very fiddly but I'm going to give it a go :)
Any idea when v2 might be available?

regards,
Alex.

Hi Alex,

I want to be fair to those who have recently purchased a paid-for version. So that means waiting a few weeks. Perhaps the end of the year.

In the meantime I'm happy to give you a free copy of TDV -- I have turned you purple.

The TDV download and instructions are here:

Best of luck building T-gauge! :)

regards,

Martin.

Already on with mine, but in finescale, to the true 3.16mm gauge.
I use brass strip edge on for the rails, soldered onto brass "ties" which are laid over the Templot diagram.
This framework is then removed from the paper, and soldered onto copperclad PCB, then gapped.
Dummy timbers are then inserted.

I have uploaded a shot of the switch part-built to the image gallery

I'll hope to have a lot more for either ModelRail Scotland, or York show. I'll be on the DEMU stand

Brass ties (temporary) are .45 brass rod, or similar. The size depends upon the depth of your timbers, as they just have to slide underneath.

Brass strip is 1mm 010" IIRC.

All were from the Eileens/Squires type stand at shows/local model shop, and were in my metal stockholding.
Vees were the same, filed up.

Copperclad PCB was from the old C&L offcuts box. I have wider bits for the station throat, where several tracks are in parallel, otherwise quite narrow pieces can do, obviously.

So, sorry, no parts to speak of.

Just looking for the ideal tiebar.
