Hello all, I am planning a small layout of a sawmill an want to use templot for designing and have a few questions... 1. How do I import a scanned sketch of my layout (jpg) to use as a background? 2. Failing the above how do i draw a simple rectangle 1850 mm x 630mm, what should i enter in the 4 dimension boxes? Thanks for any help Sam |

You will also find how to use shapes there. It will be probably be worth while changing the sketch from .jpg to .png if you can. regards Les G |

There is a video showing how to import a scanned sketch at: http://www.templot.com/martweb/videos/map_picture_shape.exe Note that now in TDV it is no longer necessary to use only a BMP file or save it in the \SHAPE-FILES\ folder. You can use PNG, GIF, or JPG files from anywhere on your computer. However, if you are new to Templot I would strongly recommend that you get some experience of the way the program works before attempting to design over a scanned guide. p.s. your scanned sketch will be much easier to use if you turn it through 90 degrees first. 2. Failing the above how do I draw a simple rectangle 1850 mm x 630mm, what should I enter in the 4 dimension boxes? Enter 0 , 0 , 1850 , 630 to create your rectangle background shape. regards, Martin. |
