Templot is, without doubt, a wonderful program. But, I am not an expert on prototype track (and do not want to become one) and many excellent track builders over many years have tried to teach me to build track with absolutely no success. I can see all the advantages of flowing track (not to mention cost savings) but, for me, I will have to continue to rely on ready made track. It seems to me that libraries of track templates do not exist and I have tried to work out how to make (say) a 4 foot radius point with no success. Can someone help please |

Hi dd, Templot is a design program for modellers who build their own track. It is not suitable for use with ready-made commercial track. For ready-made commercial track there are many track-planning programs available: AnyRail is very popular and easy to use: http://www.anyrail.com XTrackCAD is free: http://www.xtrkcad.org SCARM includes 3D visuals and is free: http://www.scarm.info/index_en.html 3rd PlanIt includes full 3D simulation and train running: http://www.trackplanning.com and many more. regards, Martin. |
