Good afternoon Im not sure if this a Templot fault or my printer. When printing a track plan at 125% the printer crashed, telling me it could not print Templot plans (I have previously printed many plans on the same printer). Unfortunately the printer will not restart even after removing and replacing the drivers. Has anyone had a similar problem? Printer Epson stylus photo PX650 Operating system Windows 10 Rodger |

Hi Rodger, This looks like a case of switching the computer and the printer off and back on. Then open the printer properties in the Windows Control Panel, and delete any documents remaining in the print queue. How many pages were you trying to print? At what print quality (dpi)? If you have a large trackplan it is easy if you are not careful to send dozens of pages to the printer in one go. Which is fine if both the printer and the computer have enough memory space to spare, but may be a problem on older systems. You say it is a photo printer. If you are trying to print a large number of pages in photo quality, it's very likely the printer will crash with out-of-memory errors. For template printing set the ordinary text print quality. regards, Martin. |

Hello Martin Switching on and off did not work I'm afraid It was a print at 25% with about 10 pages. The print queue was cancelled. I'm unable to see what dpi was set as the printer will not start. New printer? Regards Rodger |

Sounds like printer. Message was probably referring to failure to print current document, which probably happened to go by the name "templot pages". You can try resetting the printer -- google "epson px650 reset" for instructions. In ny experience, epson printers can die suddenly. It may be cheaper to replace the printer than to get it repaired! Hi, When you say it won't restart, do you mean that it won't switch on at all, or there are error lights? If the former then maybe the printer is dead, if the latter, perhaps it's the well-known Epson built in self-destruct feature, which can usually be defeated. At least some of their printers have a built-in counter of some sort which triggers the machine into believing that it needs the used ink reservoir replacing/cleaning. By pressing the buttons in a certain sequence this can be reset. I may or may not still have the sequence, which may or may not apply to your machine (my hard drive recently died and I wasn't able to copy everything over to the new one before it went altogether) but you should be able to eventually find it using Google. |

Thanks very much for your replies. The refix suggestions all refer to the printer being switched on. Mine is dead. Amazon are sending me a new one tomorrow. Thanks again Rodger |
