Following the addition of a branch track, (>tools>make branch track and control template copied to background). The following message came up, "SB hi-res draw to trackpad failed". However, everything seems in order. System; Desktop PC i5 processor, 8GB RAM and 512GB SSD. OS Windows 10 |

Thanks Godfrey. Just to be clear, were you using the sketchboard and displaying its items on the trackpad behind your templates? (SB is the sketchboard.) Or did that message appear out of the blue? If the former, had the sketchboard items been displaying normally up until then? The most likely reason is lack of system resources due to the extreme magnification needed as you zoom in on the trackpad. There is an option setting you can change to help with that, on the sketchboard control panel, settings tab, change transfer mode to low-res. If you are still having trouble, please can you post here your .box file and .sk9 file from the sketchboard. Thanks. regards, Martin. |

Hi Martin, Yes No Yes but hardly think I'm short of resources. I'll change the transfer mode setting and see if it re-occurs. |

Hi Godfrey, Thanks for letting me know. That setting isn't saved between sessions, so next time you re-start Templot it will be back to hi-res, and will probably work fine. It may have been a one-off glitch -- your computer may have been busy doing something else, such as an update or backup at the same time. Windows 10 can be very annoying that way, especially if it doesn't get a nice fast internet connection. The core sketchboard engine wasn't written by me, it's the work of Nils Haeck. I have made lots of changes to it to make it a bit more resilient, so it's a bit of a mish-mash. Ideally I would re-write the whole thing myself, but generally it is well-behaved. I will have a prod around it and see if I can reproduce that error message -- it has never shown up on my systems. regards, Martin. |
