I don't know if it is possible but I would like to be able to move pages edges around when printing control templates. Look at this example

This point could obviously be fitted on two pages. It would be nice to be able to reposition page boundaries when printing control templates

OK I discovered that if I move the point in the track plan so that it is no longer attached to the surrounding track then the preview fits two pages. But it is IMHO a bit of a kludge. As the adjoining track is no longer in the correct position and that makes matching sleepers at the end of points difficult

Hi,

No need to move the template. :)

SHIFT+CTRL+F10 mouse action to move the page origin to a more convenient position.

action > mouse actions:trackpad > move page origin.

See also output > page origin menu options, and output > trim margins.

The page origin is marked with a small purple square. Then to set it precisely click the bottom line on the mouse action panel in the usual way instead of going to the above menu item:

Hi Martin, Thanks, I knew it probably was possible and I honestly did try and find it on the site :-)

Hi Martin,

Silly question, because of silly action ......

If you move the page origin to get a better print out on one part of the diagram and then realise you need to print out at the original page origin setting, is there a way of re-establishing that?

All my own fault.....

cheers

Richard

Hi Richard,

I'm not sure that I follow the question?

The page origin used for any print run is shown in small print in the top-right corner of the printed pages.

The co-ordinates of each specific page are shown in the other corners. That means you can if you wish reset the page origin to begin at any previously printed page.

You may need your magnifying glass. :)

If you are using the save program preferences option, the page origin is saved between sessions, so you can continue printing from the same origin next time. But of course if you subsequently change it, or you don't save your preferences...

regards,

Martin.

Hi Martin,

Many thanks,

Magnifying glass found, and "all pages origin(a/1):" etc entered, so hopefully OK now!

Happy Easter Bank Holiday Monday

2 pieces of plywood lined up for the jig saw now......

all the best
