Hi Martin,
I have been meaning to ask this question for a long time, but I have finally got around to it. When constructing a tandem turnout, Templot gives the options of regular and curviform, but not the others? I can understand the curviform especially for the third nose.
Thanks
Phil.

I tried to make the automated tandem process as simple as possible. It stops half-way through, so that if you want to change your mind about the new turnout or change to a generic V-crossing before continuing, you can.
Unlike the other tools, the make tandem function is only a partial aid, it can't really be otherwise. There is still quite a lot to do afterwards, and if you prefer to build a tandem from scratch you can of course do so. I suspect that some experienced Templot users will continue to do that rather than use the auto function.
The advantage of a regular V-crossing over generic is that you can fine-tune the lead length by adjusting the crossing entry straight. This allows the timbering to be aligned, which avoids a lot of subsequent timber shoving.
p.s. if/when OpenTemplot is released, everyone can have a go at improving the tandem function and/or adding other functions.
cheers,
Martin.

Thanks Martin,
It was only idle curiosity that I asked.
