This evening I thought perhaps it was time I got back to the Templot Companion and picked up where I left off.

That sounds easy enough, but in fact there are a dozen loose ends waiting to be progressed. Years ago I could remember where I had got to on half a dozen different things at once, but nowadays it's hard to remember anything at all. :(

For example I was surprised to find that only 6 months ago I created this page:

 http://templot.com/companion/basics.php

because I had entirely forgotten about it. And also this topic discussing it, equally forgotten:

 topic 3197

More importantly, that page still isn't linked from anywhere else, and isn't yet indexed in the A-Z Index. I think I had in mind that it was a temporary page, to be split into shorter sections at some stage. But I can't really remember. Perhaps a coffee would help... :?

Martin,

Yes, I remember the dialogues on here back in Jan/Feb of this year. It seems like ages ago now.

I find brightly coloured Post-it notes invaluable. I stick them everywhere to remind me of things I have done or need to do. I also have a piece of pink card with LUNCH written on it. When I am having a day out and prepare my food the evening before I put the pink card in one of the shoes I am going to wear and bingo - foolproof system :).....until one day last week when I was late getting up and rushed out for a day trip. I was 30 miles down the road before I realised.....not only had I forgotten the food....I was driving along in my slippers :(

Hi Rob,

:)

My trick is to put anything I must remember on top of the computer keyboard. Preferably the thing itself rather than a note -- flask, walking boots, camera ...

Hello Martin
I’ve just started to read your explanation of how you started with Templot which is very clear and pretty easy to understand. I’ve got to your first coffee break so far and I think I’m still with you,

So thank you this is a great read!
Kind regards
Andrew
