Running 2.19b on a Mac under Wine. Sometimes I use Templot over two monitors.
Since installing on my new iMac Templot always puts the information panel outside of the main window so i'm unable to grab the header bar to move it. As you can see from the attached screenshot I can only get to click and drag/resize, not move it.
I only really use it for min curve warnings and turnout size and there are other ways of getting this info. I just would like to have my little window top left, where I've always put it.
Annoying more than anything but any ideas how to fix gratefully received

Ian

Hi Ian,

Just to clarify, are you saying that Templot starts up like this if you restart the Mac, Wine, and Templot from scratch?

What happens if you restart all from scratch with only one monitor?

Is the primary monitor on the left? What are the screen resolutions of the two monitors? Does the one on the right have a higher vertical resolution than the one on the left?

I don't have any experience of multiple monitors under Wine but I will see what I can find out.

Here is a trick you can use which might get you access to the top bar of the info panel:

1. drag the left edge of the info panel across to the left so that it fills the full width of the screen.

2. set a slew in the control template: geometry > slew (nudge) > menu items.

The info panel should jump down below the warning message. You should now be able to resize it properly and move it around. Cancel the slew.

If not:

3. save your templates and clear the trackpad.

4. click the program > main program panel menu item.

5. on the program panel click the program > expert > re-origination > re-originate... menu item.

6. set any figures other than zero.

The info panel should jump further down.

7. make sure you go back and click cancel re-origination before reloading your templates or doing any work.

cheers,

Martin.

Hi Ian,

Thanks for letting me know. Was that using a slew or re-origination? (I edited my post after posting.)

I will see what I can find.

I think the problem is related to the right-hand monitor having a higher vertical resolution than the left-hand monitor.

Does the Mac provide any settings to align the screens so that the tops are level?

cheers,

Martin.

I used re-origination.The displays can be aligned in system preferences. Due to the slight difference in resolution I have to scale the Acer monitor to match the iMac, or the other way round. I shall pay more attention to this from now on.
Plus the last few times on Templot I've started it and arranged it on the Acer.

Ian
