Hello, In the attached, I want to link PR071 to PR070 or rather the two crossovers TL058 and TR065 using the peg/align make transition curve. Templot says it's not possible. Similar problem linking PR045 to PL043. Terry |

Hi Terry, It is not mathematically possible to create a transition curve if the two curves intersect. You need to adjust the radius of one or the other or both of the templates until the track centre-lines do not quite intersect, like this: 2_040956_150000000.png Sometimes it is necessary to temporarily extend the length of the templates to see this. The length of the resulting transition zone is determined by the size of the gap you leave between them. This is the result of the above: 2_040956_160000001.png It now needs to be extended to fit the previous space -- more info at: http://templot.com/companion/link_existing.php cheers, Martin. |

Thanks Martin, It worked (eventually). So much track extension and curving were needed to avoid intersections. Terry |

Having posted the above explanation so many times over the years, I have now added it to the error message in the program: 2_050635_080000000.png In the next program update. I could do the same in many places in the program, but it involves hours and hours of work. cheers, Martin. |
