Hi Martin,

Can I make a request for a few more custom slots to be made available on the track gauge list if it isn't too much trouble. I have 3 British and two US narrow gauge settings and maybe another one or two so it would be good to have some more space. I know you back away from including NG in the presets due to there being so many.

I bet you can't resist suggesting I make the changes to the source code myself :D - I think I will leave that to the experts.

Thanks
Rob

Hi Rob,

Thanks for the suggestion, I will have a look at that.

Don't forget library templates, which is the intended way of keeping multiple custom settings. You can have as many library templates as you wish. That way you can keep more than just the gauge/scale settings. For example for Narrow-Gauge you might have custom rail sections, check rail lengths, timber sizes, etc., plus some custom switches.

If you put them in their own file, you could then add... them to your work and select whichever you want into the control template to work with.

Alternatively if you put them in a file called start.box they will be loaded automatically when you start Templot each time. Put one of them in the parking bay and then reload... your working file.

However, that's probably less intuitive than having custom settings for gauge and scale, so I will have a look. Perhaps a separate list for custom gauge/scales rather than tack them on to an already long list of presets.

Unless of course someone gets to the code before me... :)

cheers,

Martin.

Hi Martin,
Thanks for that. I will consider the Library option though ( now you have reminded me it exists ) - not all NG track has 4'6" sleepers :? It would be good to set up the rail and timber settings for each template and use the one you wanted for the layout plan.
Thanks
Rob
