Hi Martin, apologies if I asked this before, I did a search and couldn't find anything, so have a question for you. I find my own layout (18' x 18') is larger than the maximum number of pages I can generate in Templot.
I have no need to print the complete layout, but find when I'm working in sections, I run off the end as it were and have to reset the page origin to cover the top end of the layout. Not a problem other than the page identification letters are now different and the only way to line it up is using the track itself.

Not a major issue, but wondered if there is a way round it I'm not aware of.

No need to do anything as I can cope with the odd few times it happens, but wondered if there is a solution.

Hi Gordon,

Nothing can be done about the changing page reference numbers, but you can make the new print run line up with a previous print run, by choosing the number of pages from datum option when setting the new page origin:

2_121135_400000000.png2_121135_400000000.png

For this to work, you must have first printed at least one page normally, so that Templot has discovered the page size from the printer.

Note that when setting the number of pages to the new origin, it is referring to the screen view. Length is across the screen, width is up the screen.

Alternatively, in the bottom right corner of every printed page are the corner co-ordinates in mm. You might need a magnifying glass to read them. If you set the page origin to those dimensions, the next printing will start from exactly there. This method works no matter how old the printed page, or whether you are using the same printer.

Off to vote now. Wish me luck. :)

cheers,

Martin.

Thanks Martin, that's a great help. It will be much easier to simply move up five pages. I always did it by eye before and of course, none of the borders lined up so it was just down to the track itself.

Good luck with your X. We went down this morning as golf was rained off again...

Hi Gordon,

It can now. :)

You can enter a prefix which will be applied to the the page ident for the print run:

2_131214_580000000.png2_131214_580000000.png

You won't want to write an entire novel in that box, because the text size has to be reduced to fit the prefix on the page:

2_131215_160000000.png2_131215_160000000.png

Many thanks for the idea. :thumb: If you create multiple print runs it makes sense to be able to identify the pages from each one easily -- other that squinting at the date and time in the corner of the page.

In the next program update.

Good luck with your X.
Thanks.

865,696 people put their X in the same box as me. And a fat lot of difference it made. :(

cheers,

Martin.
