I have imported two NLS maps as backgound and want to crop them and then make a continuous map by matching them up. The maps show in the shapes dialogue box as screenshots but the crop/combine button is blanked out. Advice please on how I can crop the shapes and also the easiest way of making them contiguous.
many thanks

Hi Brian,

Welcome to Templot Club. :)

The crop/combine button is disabled unless the currently selected shape is a rectangle. Which will be converted to the new picture shape.

Full details of how to use the crop/combine function, and a video, are at:

 http://templot.com/companion/crop_combine.php

To make 2 maps contiguous, they need to be scaled to a common size of course, matching your model scale. Which will be the case if you have used Templot's automated import from the NLS.

Then set the front one to show transparent, and shift it over the other until the features align. It doesn't matter if there is an overlap if you are following up with crop/combine. Then for normal use switch the transparency off, because it adversely affects the zooming and panning response.

Shapes are drawn on the screen in the order shown in the list. That means the front shape on the screen is the bottom shape in the list. You can change the order of shapes using the brown arrow buttons on the right of the list.

cheers,

Martin.

Thanks MartinI have now managed to load up and concatenate 4 maps and combine them into a single shape. Getting the right zoom level on the NLS maps and getting them all the same was a bit trial and error but once you get used to the prtocess it reaaly is a very slick facilty.

Thanks again for your help.

Brian
