I've got a scissors formation I'm modelling - and opposing corners have a slip and a threeway. The slip is fine, but the threeway is causing me a bit of head-scratching. I require a 1:6 turnout angle on the scissor side, but the other side can be as wide as is needed. The 'create tandem' function however always seems to insert the second road 'inside' the first route, so in this case it has created a 1:4.93 tandem:

I'd be happy for this to be a 1:8 or above, but not sure quite how to ensure that.

I could build it in reverse, with the 'first' road going towards the top of the plan and then generate a tandem to create the turnout that's part of the scissors - but if I were to build it in reverse, I'm not sure how I could make sure that the roads would line up and the road through the scissors would be at the correct 1:6 angle.

Any ideas?

i think if you start it from a point, you choose left or right hand to define which is the longer or shorter side. Same with the size of the point.

Hi William,

Templot stops half-way through making a tandem to let you change the size of the 2nd turnout (within reason).

In this case, if you start with a right-hand B-8 it works quite well, creating 1:6.27 (in EM) for the 2nd turnout. Then do this:

You can now make any of the usual adjustments to the 2nd turnout (apart from changing the main-road curving). In this case you want to change to 1:6 for the V-crossing, before you continue making the tandem:

To get the finished tandem aligned with the diamond, group the tandem templates and then use the notch-linking function. Gordon asked about that recently:
